How to use Plagiarism Checker
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this tool search the internet?
Yes, when an external provider (Stipple, Plagiarism.Free, or Copyleaks) is configured. Without one, the tool analyzes locally against a small built-in corpus of public domain texts and clearly states that limitation.
Is my text private?
In local mode, your text never leaves your browser. When an external provider is active, your text is securely sent to that provider for scanning per their privacy policy.
What does the similarity score mean?
It reflects the degree of textual overlap with reference sources. With Stipple it shows exact public-web matches. In local mode it uses Jaccard, cosine, and n-gram similarity against the built-in corpus.
Why might I see 0% similarity?
0% means no overlap was detected with the available sources. It does not guarantee the text is original across the entire internet — uncrawled or paywalled content is not checked.
